A Chinese plate decorated in underglaze blue of a good rich tone with the prunus and cracked ice design, and dating to the Kangxi period. The front of the plate is richly decorated with the design, with only a band in the cavetto left undecorated. The back of the dish is decorated around the rim with flowering sprays of prunus blossom, and the base has a 6-characted Chenghua mark within double circles. Diameter 15.7cm (6.2")
Date: Kanxgi c1700-20
Condition: there is one small chip at the rim (see our photographs). No other damage and no restoration. The plate has warped slightly in firing.
