A good quality small Chinese underglaze blue saucer dish, Kangxi (A)

A good quality small Chinese saucer dish with moulded rim, decorated in underglaze blue, and dating from the Kangxi period.  The dish is profusely decorated in the centre with a design of flowers, foliage and scrolls.  The rim is moulded into two layers of overlapping petals, each of which is painted with a flower and foliage.  The rim has a narrow band of interlocking petals.  The reverse is decorated with three flower and fruit sprays around the rim, and with an underglaze blue ding mark to the base.  Diameter 16cm (6.3")

Provenance: from the collection of Anthony du Boulay, and with his collection label to the base.

Date: Kangxi c1700-20

Condition: this dish is in very good condition.  There is one very small chip behind the rim (visible at around 2 o'clock on the photograph of the back of the dish), and a few pinprick rim frits. No cracks or restoration.
