An excellent quality small Chinese plate, finally potted and translucent, decorated in underglaze blue, and dating from the Kangxi period. Both the interior and the rim of the plate are decorated with a pattern of scattered Prunus blossoms on a cracked ice ground. The reverse is decorated with two branches at the rim and with a six character Chenghua mark. Diameter 16 cm (6.3").
Date: Kangxi c 1700-20
Condition: this plate is in excellent undamaged condition with no chips cracks or restoration. There are a few tiny burst glaze doubles at the rim and to the interior of the plate.
