A small Chinese export underglaze blue model of a parrot standing on a rock. The detail of the feathers on the breast and wings of the bird have been lightly shown, and show more strongly on the wings where the underglaze blue has been applied. The eyes are black. Height 9.6cm (3.8")
Date: These bird figures were popular over an extended period. Qianlong or Jiaqing c1750-1820
Condition: there are three small and shallow chips to the base of the figure, and a small flat chip beneath the base (please examine our photographs). No other damage and no restoration.
