A Chinese export famille rose chamberpot and cover dating from the Qianlong period. Both the pot and cover are brightly decorated in with pink, white and blue peonies, and other flowers. Width of the pot including the handle is 24 cm (9.4") Height 14 cm (5.5")
This chamber pot form is a relatively uncommon survivor of Chinese export famille rose porcelain from the middle of the 18th century.
Date: Qianlong circa 1750
Condition: this chamberpot has had a hard life! The lid has been broken and re-fixed using staples and cement. The original handle is missing and has been replaced by a substantial metal handle. There is a chip underneath the rim of the pot. There is glaze loss around the edge of the knop to the lid.
