An attractive Chinese famille verte plate with upturned rim dating to the late Kangxi period. The centre of the plate is decorated with a brightly-coloured scene of a bird flying above peonys and other flowers in overglaze enamels and gilding. The rim is decorated with a wide diaper band with reserved panels of butterfiles. The back of the plate is decorated around the rim with 4 flower sprays within a narrow diaper band. Condition: Overall in good condition. There is one small professionally restored rim chip, and some stacking wear to the enamels and losses to the blue enamel in the centre of the plate, and some minor small chips to the footrim from use. Please examine our photographs.
