A Chinese Imari chamber pot with replacement metal handle. The outside is brightly decorated with flower sprays. The top edge has a band of underglaze blue scrolls and iron red flower heads. Diameter not including handle 16.2cm (6.4”), height 10.5cm (4.1”)
Date: Kangxi or Yongzheng c 1720-30
Condition: a few small chips beneath the everted rim of the pot. Significant rubbing to the gilt band around the rim. The handle is slightly loose, and the rattan binding on the handle is mostly missing. The pot would originally have had a cover. The iron red and gilt decoration on the exterior is in good, bright, condition.
