A Chinese Imari plate with Kingfisher
An attractive Chinese export plate decorated in the Imari style with underglaze bue and overglaze red and gilding, dating from the second quarter of the Eighteenth Century (Yongzheng to early Qianlong). The plate is decorated with a kingfisher sitting on the flowering branch and watching an insect fly above. Diameter 22.8cm (9").

Dating: Yongzheng to early Qianlong c1725-40
Condition: this plate is in excellent, undamaged, condition with no chips, cracks or restoration The brown-dressed rim is free of fritting. There is some stacking wear to the iron red and gilt decoration, and more general rubbing to the gilding. Please see our photographs.
