A Chinese export Imari shell-shaped serving dish of a good size, both the interior and exterior with marked ribbing. The inside of the dish is decorated with flower sprays and with an underglaze blue band at the rim and circle in the centre of the dish. The back of the dish is unglazed apart from a narrow area around the rim. Width 21cm (8.3”)
Date: late Kangxi or Yongzheng c1720-35
Condition: good condition. Some rubbing to the iron red enamels and gilding from use. Significant fritting and loss to the glaze around the rim. Two firing cracks near the rim.
