A pair of finely-decorated Chinese export famille rose coffee cups, dating from the Qianlong period. Each cup is decorated with a family scene of a man and a woman seated at a table with a marble top, the woman adjusting her hair using a mirror. A young child is watching two cockerels, accompanied by a female figure carrying an item wrapped in a cloth, possibly a musical instrument. The area around the handle is decorated with an elaborate gilt scrolling design, and with 4 famille rose butterflies. Height of each cup 6cm (2.4")
Date: Qianlong c1750-60
Condition: both of the cups are in very good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is a small, faint, firing flaw near the rim of one cup, and wear to the gilding on the handles and at the rims. The elaborate gilt scrollwork, and the famille rose enamels, are in very good condition.
