An attractive Chinese export bell-shaped tankard, decorated with famille rose enamels and dating from the Qianlong period. The tankard is decorated with a group of figures of women and children, with one of the women playing with a pet dog while another woman and child watch. There is a band of red and puce enamel around the rim, and a red and gilt band at the foot. Height 10.2cm (4").
Date: Qianlong c 1750-1770
Condition. There are two restored chips to the rim. These have been professionally restored and are not easy to see - see our images. The enamels are in good condition, as can be appreciated from our photographs, although the gilding at the rim has been substantially rubbed off.
