A Chinese export Kangxi period serving dish (ecuelle) and cover with animal headed handles covered with a light 'cappuccino' brown glaze and with underglaze blue decoration in reserved panels. There are two fan shaped panels on the lid and a further two fan shaped panels to the body of the dish each with underglaze blue decoration of flowering plants and insects. Width including the handles is 18.3 cm (7.2"), height 11.2 cm (4.4").
Date: Kangxi circa 1700 to 1720.
Condition: both the serving dish and cover are in excellent undamaged condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.
