A good quality export famille rose dish dating from the Yongzheng or early Qianlong long period. The dish is decorated with a scene of two quail facing each other under peony flowers which are emerging from decorative rockwork. The rim is decorated with a diaper pattern band and with further peony flower heads in reserve panels. The reverse is undecorated. Diameter 22.5 cm
Date: Yongzheng or early Qianlong c1730-40
Condition: this dish is in excellent condition with one tiny frit to the brown dressed rim, a small and shallow chip from the foot rim and a small firing flaw in the foot rim. There is a small firing flaw beneath the glaze on the reverse of the dish, which does not pass through to the front of the dish. Please see our images.
