A good quality and early Chinese famille rose plate with shaped rim, dating from the Yongzheng period. The centre of the plate is decorated with a kylin seated on a cushion, next to a low table with flowering peonies. These is a blue vase with peacock feathers behind the kylin. The rim is enamelled in a highly decorative fashion with panels of peony flowers against a richly patterned background. Diameter 21.5cm (8.5")
A good quaity example of famille rose decoration.
Date: Yongzheng (1723-35)
Condition: glaze fritting to the rim, and one small chip to the foot. Small areas of enamel loss to the centre. Please see our photographs. No chips, cracks or restoration.
