A Chinese silk kesi dragon
A beautiful gold thread Chinese dragon panel from the front of a silk kesi (woven) robe worn at the palace near the emperor. This dates from around 1860.
There are a very few loose threads and a little wear to some gold threads but the panel is generally in good condition. It has been mounted for display, ready for framing.
The central fabric panel measures 305 x 210 mm (12 x 8.5 inches) and the mount is 433 x 337 mm (17 x 13.25 inches).
