An 18th century Chinese Buddhist temple banner top, from Tibet, mounted, glazed and framed. The piece is in the shape of a ruyi cloud, braided thread forming the outline of the cloud on a blue silk background, with insets of yellow and cream silk and apricot-coloured brocade.
Textile: 28 cm (19 cm excluding tassels) h by 25cm w
Frame: 44 cm h x 43 cm w
Condition: Some losses to silks, particularly the yellow section. Please see photographs.
