An early C20th Chinese boy's tiger hat, probably in cotton

An early 20th century boy's tiger hat, probably in cotton,  to confuse evil spirits and protect, painted and appliquéd. The black face has appliqué eyes and mouth with a padded nose, the eyes with metal bead pupils. The yellow back and legs have painted black markings. Blue cotton interior.

Condition Good: Some surface marks and losses to threads. Please see photographs.

Size 14 cm across eyes; back seam 22cm.
