A small mounted piece of Eighteenth Century Chinese silk brocade. The dark blue silk background is woven with a peony design in two shades of gold-coloured silk thread. Size of mount 23 x 18cm (9" x 7"), size of visible textile 14.5 x 9.3 cm (5.7" x 3.4").
Only a small piece, but a nice example of an early Chinese silk brocade.
