A Chinese export tea canister and cover with added C18th English decoration of flower sprays painted using green and black enamels and embellished with gilding. Height 13.5 cm. (5.3")
A Chinese coffee cup, teabowl and saucer with identical decoration were included in the Stockspring Antiques catalogue of The Stephen Hanscombe Porcelain Collection.
Date: Qianlong circa 1760
Condition: the body of the canister is in very good condition with no damage. There is some rubbing to the gilding around the base. As can be appreciated the enamels are also in very good condition. There has been restoration to a chip to the cover and the cover has been oversprayed.
