A pair of Chinese coffee cups with European Imari decoration of pavilions in a garden landscape and with boldly painted gilt panels with flower heads. Inside the rim of each cup there are garlands of flowers and suspended tassels. The base of each cup has been decorated with a flower head. Height of cups is 6.2 cm.
This style of overglaze decoration with large gilt panels is usually considered to indicate English decoration.
Date: late Kangxi to Yongzheng c 1720-35
Condition: Both cups in good condition, only a tiny chip to the foot rim of one, and to the inside of the rim of the other.
