Chinese ruby ground teabowl & saucer c1730-40

An attractive Chinese teabowl and saucer with pink enamel ground to the front with reserved panels with landscape painting of delicate touch and colouring, and hawthorn branches and flowers, dating to the Yongzheng to early Qianlong period.  The porcelain is very delicate, with the cup in particular being of almost eggshell fineness.  Saucer diameter 13cm (5.1")

Dating: Yongzheng to early Qianlong c 1730-40.

The production of these enamelled-ground wares was a complex process, with the ground applied (perhaps blown on?) with the reserves protected.  This would be fired, and then the reserves would be painted and the porcelain fired again.
 

Condition.  The saucer is in excellent, undamaged, condition with just some minor rubbing to the enamels where the cup and saucer were stacked.  The cup has had a large section broken away and carefully re-fixed in position, and the line of the repair is visible on the outside of the cup.  (A restorer/conservator should be able to remove this visible line.)  There are two shallow chips to the foot rim of the cup which appear to have been introduced during production, as both have touches of pink enamel over them.  The enamels on the cup are in excellent condition.  Please study the photographs.
