Good Chinese saucer dish Kangxi or Yongzheng

Code: 220506

A good quality Chinese saucer dish with out-turned rim, decorated in underglaze blue, and dating from the Kangxi to Yongzheng period.  The centre of the dish is decorated with a pair of fish swimming amongst water plants and between breaking waves.  The reverse of the dish is further decorated with fish and water plants.  The base has an appocryphal six-character Jiajing mark.  Diameter 15.3cm (6")

This design of fish amongst water plants originated in the Ming Dynasty, but this is a later version.
