An interesting 18th century Chinese tea bowl with bianco sopra bianco decoration and with added European decoration in puce enamel, which has been mounted on an ormolu tripod mount. The original Chinese decoration was of fruiting and flowering branches and with finely incised decoration to the outside of the tea bowl. The European decoration is of a European woman in a wooded landscape, and with a European building in a landscape to the interior. The ormolu mount comprises three legs with the tops formed as unfurling ferns and with lion pad feet. Diameter of the tea bowl 7.5 cm (3”), and the total height is 7.3cm (2.9”)
Dating: The porcelain Yongzheng or early Qianlong c 1730-45, the decoration mid Eighteenth Century.
Condition. The tea bowl has a restored hairline.
