A Chinese teabowl and saucer, finely potted and translucent, decorated in famille rose enamels, and dating from the Yongzheng period. Both the tea bowl and the saucer are decorated with a scene of two elegant women next to a rockwork table on which is sitting a hare or rabbit, and surrounded by flowering plants. The standing woman is holding an object in her hand which might be a peach. (Both the hare and the peach are symbols of longevity.) Saucer diameter 10.5cm (4.1")
Dating: Yongzheng (1723-35)
Condition. Both the teabowl and saucer are in exellent, undamaged, condition. The enamels are also in very good condition as can be appreciated from our pictures with only very minor rubbing.
