A very good quality Chinese export chocolate pot and cover dating from the Kangxi period. Both the pot and cover have been decorated with flowering plants and insects in cobalt blue of a good rich and intense colour. The sides of the handle have also been decorated with flowering plants. Height 14.5 cm.
Date: Kangxi circa 1700 - 20
Condition: the knop to the cover has been re-fixed. There is a firing fault at the top of the handle, visible in our photographs. Otherwise in very good condition with no chips or cracks.
