12 Chinese 'tea production' pith pictures

SOLD

Code: 230501

A set of 12 charming small pith pictures dating from late 19th to early 20th century showing the stages of tea production from planting the Camellia Sinensis cutting to serving the tea -  including picking, washing, drying, sorting, packing and selling.

The pictures are in the original glazed, paper/cardboard box with fabric edging.  We are pleased to be able to offer a complete set of pictures like this.

Size: Each complete picture is about 11cm x 7 ½ cm (4 ¼”  x3”).  The box is 12½ cm x 9cm (5” x 3½ “).

Condition: the colours are very fresh and vivid.  The pictures are generally in good condition.  Some of the pictures have losses and a few have splits which do not detract from the overall effect. Please see photographs. The glazed lid of the box is in poor condition though the glass is intact. The base of the box is in fair condition.
