A Chinese Transtional period dish with bold decoration in underglaze blue, dating from the Shunzhi or early Kangxi period. Both the front and back of the dish are decorated with a pattern of prunus blossoms floating on water, depicted as a swirling pattern and with breaking waves. The front of the dish has a central conch shell. A striking, bold, and richly-textured design. Diameter 16cm (6.3")
Dating: Shunzhi or early Kangxi c 1644-80.
Condition: the dish is in very good condition. There is glaze fritting around the rim, and a few small foot rim nicks. Please see the images.
