A good Chinese dish with landscape, early Kangxi

£375.00 Approx $464.11, €435.54

Code: 250603

An attractive example of a finely-potted Chinese early Qing dish, decorated with underglaze blue of an inky tone, and dating from the early Kangxi period.  The dish is decorated with a landscape scene of a figure walking away from a pavilion under a tree, with a distant lndscape of rocks and mountains.  The reverse of the dish is painted with two swiftly-drawn branches.  Diameter 21.5 cm (8.5")

The style of decoration, with the calligraphic outlines to the rocks and mountains and the use of 'blobby dot' decoration in the foreground dates this to the early Kangxi period.

Date: Kangxi c 1670-80

Condition: The dish has some glaze fritting and small chips to the rim, and three small chips to the foot, which are shown in our photos.  A close-up photo is shown of the largest of the rim chips.  The small chips and fritting are more evident from the back of the dish than the front.
