An attractive Chinese blanc de Chine libation cup, made in the Dehua kilns in Fujian Province, and dating from the Kangxi period. The cup is formed as a bowl, which copies the form of a rhinoceros horn, supported on a foot formed from branches which end in magnolia flowers on one side and prunus blossoms on the other. Width at widest point 9cm (3.5").
Provenance: from the collection of Anthony du Boulay, and with his collection label.
Dating: Kangxi (1662-1722)
Condition: this cup is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is a small area of glaze crazing at the rim.
